About His Ideal Match

The longest production train in the world has rolled into Saldanha Bay on the Cape West Coast after travelling more than 800 kilometres following an 20 hour journey from the Northern Cape. The train was brought in by 33-year-old driver, Elizia Clark, from the West Coast. Coming in from Sishen mine in Kathu and carrying over 24 000 tons of manganese, history was made today as the longest production train in the world rolled into Saldanha Bay as quiet as a whisper. The train breaks several records transporting 375 loaded wagons. It is 4 kilometers in length. Transnet says it is estimated that the train will add R355 million in freight revenue to their coffers annually. The wagons are drawn by a locomotive of 15 megawatts of sheer power. Another engine in the middle and two at the back distributes power to move the massive train.
